It may be Christmas, but that doesn’t mean that the news is put on hold. Earlier today it was revealed that the Cedar Rapids River Kings were now under new ownership and would be returning in 2024.
The news came via the River Kings official Facebook page, giving arena football fans an extra gift on the day.
The River Kings joined the IFL as an expansion team in 2011 as the Cedar Rapids Titans and first took the field for the 2012 season.
During the 2018 season, the Titans were sold to new ownership and announced that they would rebrand for 2019 with a name-the-team contest, eventually taking on the Cedar Rapids River Kings monikur.
COVID-19 forced the River Kings to sitout the 2021 season, and ultimately shuttering its doors. That is, until now.
